Gibson Les Paul Deluxe for sale!

gibson les paul deluxe in case

This original Gibson Les Paul deluxe is in really good condition for its age. There are some signs of ware to the guitar body as the pictures indicate. This has a Nitro finish guitar body, 3 piece neck with volute which means the neck won’t snap as easily as the predecessor!

676210 is the serial number of this particular Gibson Les Paul Deluxe. The Pots have the serial number 1377102. Possibly built in the Kalamazoo factory, this model features mini hum buckers. The reason why is because Gibson changed ownership and wanted to standardise the Gibson Les Paul design. The mini hum buckers fit into the guitar body that have been routed for the P90 pickups. The mini hum bucker was the pickup choice as Gibson had Epiphone surplus stock from where the Epiphone operation had been moved to Japan.

Along with the neck volute, 3 piece neck and the mini hum bucker came what is known as the pancake style guitar body. This is the process of layering Mahogany and maple to form the guitar body of the Gibson Les Paul deluxe. These guitars were not popular when they first appeared in 1969 as but grew in demand after Pete Townsend took to the stage with it!

The case appears to be original and I would have to say it plays superb. The frets have little ware around fret 1, 2 and 3 due to open chord dominant usage (what guitar doesn’t!)

The most noticeable attribute to this Gibson les paul deluxe when you first pick it up (apart from the weight) is the smell! Yes, you know that old book library smell! It really adds to the sense that the guitar has been around a long time and adds to the nostalgia of that era!

This guitar belongs to a friend of mine who would like this beautiful guitar to go to a loving home. If you do your research, you will find that the value of these early Gibson Les Paul deluxe models are increasing in value every year and are forecast to do so for many years to come!

We have had offers in the region of £2,000 which given the superb condition and specification is simply giving it away. Please look around and you will find similar models going for nearly £3,000.

£2,250 is a fare price and i am positive somebody will see the true value at some point. We are in no hurry to sell so please don’t try to haggle below this figure.

Please have a listen to the audio samples i have recorded so you can hear for your selves that it has true tonal character!
